About Bridge Diagnostics

Since 1990, UTS Engineering has been actively researching and developing technologies that can assess, maintain and rehabilitate bridges, particularly timber bridges. It is now internationally recognised as a world leader in structural assessment, repair and design of timber bridges.

 

In July 2003 UTS commenced commercialisation of a newly developed testing method, offering a specialised bridge assessment service to owners of bridges in State and Local Governments throughout Australia, known as accessUTS Bridge Diagnostics. The assessment method has been subjected to appropriate peer review, and its significance recognized with the 2003 National Awards for “Infrastructure Management” in Local Government and "Outstanding Achievement in Local Government for Innovation and Excellence".

 

Bridge Diagnostics is a specialist provider of testing, load rating assessment and health monitoring of bridges. Based within the Centre for Built Infrastructure Research (CBIR) and the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Technology, Sydney, Bridge Diagnostics offers a specialist consultancy service to design consultants, bridge owners and asset managers.
